Carnival Lights Up Villafranca di Verona: Night Parades and Traditions

The heart of Villafranca di Verona, specifically Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, is preparing to welcome Carnival with a programme full of events for all ages. An explosion of colour and cheer will invade the streets of the centre, transforming the town into an open-air stage.

Starting at 2 PM, Piazza Castello will come alive with the Children’s Carnival, an unmissable opportunity for the little ones to show off their masks and take part in themed games and entertainment. The competition for the most beautiful mask will award the creativity and originality of the participants, while face painting will transform their faces into works of art.

The highlight of the day will be the grand Carnival night parade, starting at 7:30 PM. Allegorical floats and lively masks will parade through the streets of the centre, illuminating the night with their contagious energy. The procession will wind through Via A. Messedaglia, Via G. Cantore and Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, offering an unforgettable spectacle for all spectators. In case of bad weather, the event will be postponed to February 28th.

From 7 PM, Piazza Castello will also transform into a gastronomic oasis, with stands open to taste traditional gnocchi, a symbolic dish of the Veronese Carnival.
