Coppa Città della Pace: A Roar of Classic Engines Between Rovereto and Ala

The “Coppa Città della Pace” (City of Peace Cup), a prominent motoring event in Trentino, celebrated its 30th anniversary. Organised by the Adige Sport team from Rovereto, this classic regularity competition for vintage cars is one of only two provincial races valid for the Italian Championship.

Participants competed on a course of approximately 200 km, facing timed trials on pressure pads, with penalties calculated to the millisecond. The race offered enthusiasts the opportunity to admire vintage cars and discover this fascinating discipline.

The event began on Friday, February 17th, with technical checks at the Hotel Nerocubo in Rovereto. On Saturday the 18th, the competition kicked off with the official start from Piazza San Giovanni in Ala. The route touched several locations, including Chizzola, Crosano, Besagno, Val di Ledro and Bezzecca, with a lunch break at the Ristorante Alfio in Dro.

In the afternoon, the vintage cars crossed Val di Ledro again, Mori, Besagno, Crosano, Chizzola, Villa Lagarina, Nomi, Volano and Rovereto, concluding the race in Ala. In Corso Bettini in Rovereto, in front of the Mart museum, the spectacular “Power Stage Classic” took place, a challenge between pressure pads tackled in rapid sequence.

The award ceremony was held in Ala, at Palazzo Scherer, with a buffet. The winners of the pre-war category received a work by the artist Luisa Bifulco.
