Lake Garda, with its unique light and enchanting landscapes, is preparing to host a cultural event of significant depth. From June 9 to 14, 2026, the town of Garda will become the heart of a refined cinematic experience: the Garda Cinema Festival. This new festival, directed by journalist Franco Dassisti and organised by the Decima Musa Association, promises six days dedicated to the seventh art, set against a backdrop of rare beauty.
Attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a rich and varied program. The days will come alive with film screenings, stimulating encounters with Italian cinema authors and protagonists, and debates exploring the nuances of happiness, the central theme of this edition. The pre-opening evening will be a tribute to Isabella Ferrari, honoured with the Shooting Star Award, who will introduce Pupi Avati’s film “Nel tepore del ballo” and offer insights into her distinguished career.

Among the anticipated guests are prestigious names such as Giorgio Pasotti, Milvia Marigliano, Massimiliano Gallo, Giovanni Esposito, and Francesco Mandelli, who will enrich the dialogue with the audience. A significant highlight will be the International Short Film Competition, featuring 33 works from around the world, competing in both fiction and documentary categories, all engaging with the theme of happiness. An expert jury will present awards for the various categories and a special recognition for culture.
The Festival will extend beyond the silver screen. Art exhibitions, such as the one dedicated to Pasqualin Milesi, will also be set up, fostering a dialogue between different artistic expressions. The clear objective is to enhance the Garda region, strengthening its cultural image and providing opportunities for connection and growth. Tickets are available online or at the Arena Garda Cinema Box-office, open from 6:30 PM.
