Geografie: A Musical Journey at Arco Castle

Nestled within the captivating Garda Trentino region, the majestic Arco Castle is preparing to host an unparalleled sonic experience: Geografie. This festival, brought to life within the ancient walls of a venue long dedicated to events and performances, aims to be a meeting point for cultures, musical languages, and traditions from across the globe. The concept is to embark, edition by edition, on a genuine journey through diverse geographical and cultural areas, guided by artists who masterfully blend the richness of tradition with the vibrancy of contemporary exploration.

The inaugural edition of Geografie, scheduled for the summer of 2026, turns its gaze towards the captivating music of Eastern Europe. This region, steeped in historical influences and fervent artistic experimentation, will unfold across three unmissable dates. On June 29, the stage will be graced by Goran Bregović, one of the most significant artists on the international music scene. Accompanied by his renowned The Wedding & Funeral Band, Bregović will bring Balkan sounds back to the castle in a concert that fuses fanfares, folk music, rock, and orchestral composition. This performance holds symbolic weight, as the “The Belly Button of the World” tour echoes the first major cultural event hosted here in 2001.

July 3 will see Ladaniva, an Armenian duo that has rapidly established itself among the most intriguing acts in the new European world music scene. Their energetic and contemporary music weaves together Armenian folk, French chanson, reggae, and global rhythms, born from the encounter between Jaklin Baghdasaryan’s voice and Louis Thomas’s musical sensibility. Concluding the series on July 9 will be the Georgian female trio Mandili. Their performances reinterpret the Georgian polyphonic tradition, a cultural heritage recognised by UNESCO, with a simplicity and immediacy that have captivated an ever-growing international audience in recent years. An invitation to explore the world’s soul, comfortably immersed in the beauty of Lake Garda.
