In Rovereto, a city steeped in culture, the Mart museum invites you on a journey into the creative universe of Giacomo Balla, one of the most emblematic figures of Italian avant-garde art. The exhibition “Giacomo Balla – The Style of the Avant-Garde” is more than just a display; it is a deep immersion into the artistic thought of a master who anticipated his time, shaping the future with audacity and vision.

From April 5, 2026, to January 6, 2027, visitors will have the unique opportunity to explore one of the most significant private collections dedicated to Balla: the complete collection of works from the Laura Biagiotti Collection and the Biagiotti Cigna Foundation. This exhibition unfolds across five thematic sections, from Divisionism to Futurism, touching upon Futurist fashion and the revolutionary “Futurist Reconstruction of the Universe,” leading to a new modern figuration.

Over 240 works, including vibrant paintings, innovative drawings, bold furniture, intriguing objects, and convention-defying garments, engage in dialogue with archival materials from Mart. A highlight is the encounter with “Genio Futurista,” the largest work ever created by Balla, an explosion of color and dynamism that embodies the essence of his genius.

This exhibition, masterfully curated by Beatrice Avanzi and Fabio Benzi, celebrates a utopia transformed into form. It offers an experience that encourages reflection on the visionary force that shaped the dawn of Italian modernity.
