In the heart of Rovereto, the Mart (Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto) celebrated 180 years of photography with an exhibition dedicated to Italo Zannier, a key figure in the history of Italian photography. The exhibition, conceived by Vittorio Sgarbi, explored Zannier’s journey as an intellectual, teacher and photographer, offering an in-depth look at the evolution of the image, from engravings to digital techniques.
The exhibition presented a selection of illustrated volumes from Zannier’s personal archive, tracing the history of image reproduction from its origins to the present day. A collection of approximately 100 photographic works testified to Zannier’s passion, from the 1950s to his most recent experiences.
