Marco Palmieri: Cinque Quinte, a metaphysical dialogue in Mantua

From June 24 to September 13, 2026, Mantua hosts an exhibition project of rare refinement. At the evocative Camera delle Cariatidi in Palazzo Te, artist Marco Palmieri presents Cinque Quinte. Omaggio a Palazzo Te, a site-specific work that engages in a deep dialogue with the Renaissance architecture of the complex.

Palmieri’s multidisciplinary research is condensed here into a photographic series that transforms the Courtyard of Honor into a metaphysical stage. Through the skillful use of watercolors and scale models, the artist constructs imaginary architectures in five perspective variations. The colored forms, occupying the scene as enigmatic presences, invite the viewer to reflect on the theatrical nature of the space.

The exhibition, promoted by the Palazzo Te Foundation, marks the artist’s return to a prestigious institutional setting following his success in Paris. Accompanying the exhibition, a catalog published by Corraini Edizioni enriches the experience with a critical text by Stefano Baia Curioni, providing further insight into this visual tribute to timeless beauty.
