Great War on Monte Corno: a historical-naturalistic route in Nago-Torbole

Immerse yourself in history by walking the path that winds between Monte Corno, the Stützpunkt Perlone and the Busa dei Capitani, strongholds of the second Austro-Hungarian line during the Great War. This “fortified hill” offers a unique view of Lake Garda and testimonies of the First World War, including trenches and observation posts.

Starting from Nago, the circular route will lead you through a landscape rich in history and nature, thanks to the recovery work of volunteers and the contribution of various local authorities. Admire the breathtaking view of the lake and discover the traces of the border between the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Kingdom of Italy.

  • Length: 6.9 km
  • Duration: 3 hours and 10 minutes
  • Elevation gain: 560 m

Author’s advice: Don’t miss the panorama from Perlone or Predabusa and, on clear days, try to spot Sirmione in the distance.
