Nicolò Govoni at Trento’s Teatro Sociale: A Story of Courage and Hope

The Teatro Sociale in Trento is set to host Nicolò Govoni on May 7, 2026, with his moving show, The Man Who Built the Future. A young writer, human rights activist, and founder of the non-profit organisation Still I Rise, Govoni will share an intense and extraordinary journey of courage, solidarity, and hope, directed by Gioia Battista and produced by Corvino Produzioni.

The show tells the story of a teenager labelled as ‘difficult’ who, at just twenty years old, decides to dedicate his life to building a better future for children around the world. Through Still I Rise, Govoni and his collaborators have opened schools in Greece, Yemen, Syria, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Colombia, offering an innovative study method that puts the person, awareness, knowledge, beauty, and joy at the centre. Still I Rise is the first non-profit in the world to offer the International Baccalaureate free of charge to refugees.

Nicolò Govoni’s story exemplifies how a single individual can make a difference in the world. Nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2020, Govoni brings to the stage a narrative full of challenges, obstacles, and achievements, with the aim of inspiring the audience to do their part to change the world. The Man Who Built the Future is an invitation not to give up in the face of difficulties, but to roll up your sleeves and work towards a better future.
