Ottobre Musicale in Verona

The historic Church of San Bernardino in Verona hosts the 2026 edition of the Ottobre Musicale – Terenzio Zardini Prize. Now in its seventeenth year, the festival offers a series of concerts held every Sunday from October 4th to October 25th at 4:00 PM, organized by the Associazione Musicale Fr. Terenzio Zardini.

The program begins on October 4th with an event dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi on the eighth centenary of his death. Alessandro Anderloni will guide the audience through a narrative journey connecting the Saint to Dante’s Divine Comedy. The second event, on October 11th, features organist Luca Maresca and the vocal ensemble Il Bequadro, conducted by Giuseppe Manzini, in a concert titled From Toccatas to Romantic Dreams.

On October 18th, organist Alberto Barbetta will present Sound Metamorphoses: Two Instruments, Four Centuries of Music, exploring the evolution of organ music. The series concludes on October 25th with the “Gaetano Zinetti” Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Marco Morelato, performing Venetian Light, German Architecture, a program focused on the dialogue between European musical traditions. Admission is free.
