In Mantua, Palazzo della Ragione hosts the Sonnabend Collection Mantova, a new museum dedicated to contemporary art. The permanent collection, the result of Ileana Sonnabend’s vision, is divided into eleven rooms that retrace the patron’s journey, exhibiting iconic masterpieces of American art such as Jasper Johns’ Figure 8, Roy Lichtenstein’s Little Aloha, and Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup. Alongside these seminal works of Pop Art, there are works by Jim Dine, James Rosenquist, and Tom Wesselmann, as well as contemporary research by Italian artists such as Michelangelo Pistoletto and Mario Schifano.
