The Little Hiker’s Trails: The Witches’ Path
An enchanting family walk that winds through the woods above Balbido and Rango. This route, known as “The Witches’ Path”, is dotted with traces and clues that tell ancient legends. Starting from Le Cross, above the picturesque village of Balbido, famous for its murals, you’ll walk amidst history and nature.
In 1656, five iron crosses were erected in this place to protect farmers from witches who, according to popular belief, disturbed those who went to Val Marcia. The circular path offers views of the valley and leads to Rango, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, with its houses that preserve the typical architecture of the Giudicarie Valleys.
