On September 4th, the city of Mantua will host a sophisticated gathering at the Sala Pozzo of the Museo Diocesano Francesco Gonzaga. Titled The Evolution of Taste, this event offers a cultural journey tracing the shifts in culinary sensitivity from the Middle Ages to the Modern Age.

Bruno Cavallaro will lead attendees through a narrative weaving together history, medicine, and social customs, exploring how medieval humoral theories evolved through the Renaissance, reaching the complexity of the Baroque period and the rationality of the Enlightenment. The presentation will be complemented by tasting sessions curated in collaboration with the Associazione Culturale Symposion and the Consorzio Agrituristico Mantovano.

A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of wines from the Castello di Agazzano winery, curated by Prince GianLodovico Gonzaga. This tasting provides a unique opportunity to reflect on the deep bond between terroir and culture, promoting a mindful and appreciative approach to wine. Participation is by reservation only, with a deadline of August 30th and a contribution required for the tasting.
