The Patron Saint’s Festival – Madonna di Piné: A Day of Tradition and Community on the Piné Plateau

Each year, the Piné Plateau, in the surroundings of Trento, comes alive for an event that deeply intertwines spirituality, history, and a sense of belonging. On May 26, 2026, the Patron Saint’s Festival, dedicated to the Madonna di Piné, offers a moment of authentic celebration and sharing, an invitation to immerse oneself in the roots of a vibrant community.

The day will commence with the traditional Procession, a collective journey organized by the Parishes of the Plateau, uniting participants in a gesture of devotion. The gathering point is set at the “Don Giuseppe Tarter” secondary school on Via del 26 Maggio, from where pilgrims will proceed, making a significant stop at the Sanctuary of Montagnaga, before finally reaching the Prato della Comparsa. Here, at 4:00 PM, the Holy Mass will take place, the spiritual culmination of the day, with the solemn renewal of the vow to the Madonna.

Yet, the Patron Saint’s Festival is also an opportunity to strengthen community bonds. From late afternoon until late evening, the square in front of the A.N.A. Headquarters in Baselga di Piné will transform into a festive meeting point. Pasta will be offered to all, a simple yet powerful symbol of conviviality, accompanied by musical entertainment provided by the harmonious voices of the Coro Costalta and Coro Abete Rosso. The evening will also feature an institutional moment, with greetings from the Authorities, the proclamation of the “Pinetano dell’Anno”, and the presentation of the municipal statute to the newly turned 18-year-olds from Bedollo and Baselga di Piné, a gesture that underscores the importance of passing on civic values and local identity. An experience that touches the heart, celebrating the essence of a territory and its people.
