Two Black-Gloved Fists: Federico Buffa Tells a Story of an Era in Rovereto

A unique event in Rovereto, under the evocative dome of the Mart. On Thursday, April 17th, the unmistakable voice of sports journalist Federico Buffa, accompanied by Alessandro Nidi’s piano, will bring to life “Two Black-Gloved Fists,” an intense and moving narration of one of the most iconic moments of the twentieth century.

The image of Tommie Smith and John Carlos at the Mexico City Olympics in 1968, with their fists raised in protest, is a powerful symbol of the struggle for civil rights. Buffa will retrace that story, recounting the consequences that gesture had on the lives of the two athletes.

An event realized with the support of the Municipality of Rovereto and numerous partners, including Generali Rovereto Rosmini and Cassa Rurale Alto Garda Rovereto. The appointment is at 9:00 PM. Single ticket upon reservation for €22.
