Women’s voices: Trentino history in the latest issue of Studi Trentini

On September 22, 2026, the city of Trento will host a significant historical event at the “Novecento Trentino ’14 ‘72” museum space. The gathering focuses on the presentation of the 1/2026 issue of the esteemed journal “Studi Trentini. Storia”.

The highlight of the event is Novella Volani’s essay, “Quel turbine che nessuno risparmia” (That whirlwind which spares no one). By examining the personal diaries of seven women from the region, the author provides a unique perspective on the Second World War, chronicling the daily life and resilience of the civilian population. Historian Quinto Antonelli will join the author in a dialogue, exploring the theme of the “double violence” experienced by these women.

The afternoon begins at 5:00 PM with a free guided tour of the permanent exhibition, which traces the history of the region from the First World War to the Second Statute of Autonomy. The presentation of the journal, led by director Stefano Malfatti, starts at 6:00 PM. Participation is free, but booking is required at biblioteca@museostorico.it.
