A Charity Walk in Custoza to Support Research

The natural beauty of Verona, particularly the charming hamlet of Custoza in Sommacampagna, is set to host a truly heartfelt initiative. On Sunday, June 7, 2026, Agriturismo Corte Vittoria will be the gathering point for a solidarity walk, an opportunity to combine the joy of being outdoors with the noble aim of supporting scientific research.

This recreational walking event, designed to be accessible to everyone, will offer a route of approximately 5 kilometres. Paths and mule tracks, fully immersed in greenery and far from daily hustle, will create an ideal environment for families, children, and grandparents, inviting them to enjoy a morning of serenity and shared purpose. This is not a competition, but a collective experience where every step makes a difference.

The true heart of the event lies in its charitable objective: all proceeds will be donated to the Italian Progeria Sammy Basso Association (A.I.Pro.Sa.B.). The funds raised will be an essential contribution to research on progeria, a rare disease causing premature aging, as well as supporting scientific dissemination and affected families. The presence of the “Sammy Runners” will be further testament to how the strength of unity and positivity can overcome any apparent obstacle.

The participation fee is 15 euros, payable on the day, and includes a souvenir gadget of the event, available while stocks last. Furthermore, participants can enjoy a delicious board of local cold cuts and cheeses, generously offered by Agriturismo Corte Vittoria, a moment of refreshment celebrating the authentic flavours of the region.

To ensure a pleasant and safe experience, places are limited to 200 participants. Booking is mandatory and can be made on the www.bike-team.it website, with registrations closing on Saturday, June 6, at 8:00 PM or when the maximum limit is reached. An opportunity to walk together, do good, and discover the tranquillity of Custoza.
