On September 26, 2026, Trento and its renowned MUSE – Science Museum will become a hub for the study and celebration of aquatic life. The event, titled A Submerged World, invites the public to embark on a journey through science, biodiversity, and global cultures, exploring the vital element that shapes our planet.
From 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, visitors will have the unique opportunity to engage directly with researchers and experts. The program covers a wide range of topics, from archaeozoology—used to reconstruct the evolution of Trentino’s fish fauna over the last ten millennia—to the microscopic analysis of plankton and macroinvertebrates. The experience unfolds across the museum’s halls, laboratories, and outdoor spaces, including the museum’s own biotope and gardens.

A highlight of the afternoon is the 13 cultures. 13 stories initiative, organized in partnership with thirteen international associations to share traditions and meanings associated with water. To mark the European Day of Languages, admission to the museum will be free, providing a valuable opportunity to delve into the intrinsic link between organisms, ecosystems, and human activity.
