In Verona, within the evocative setting of Forte Gisella, a special evening awaits, dedicated to wonder and enchantment, crafted for families and young children. This event celebrates friendship and discovery, inviting everyone to partake in a collective experience rich in inspiration and creativity.
The heart of the evening beats to the rhythm of Oscar Wilde’s renowned fairy tale, “The Happy Prince”. Before delving into the narrative of this touching story, participants will have the opportunity to join a unique creative workshop, titled “The Wonderful Journey of a Drop”. Inspired by the book of the same name, this workshop will guide children, aged 5 and above, through the vital cycle of water. Through play and movement, they will explore its transformations, in a collective experience that merges science with imagination. An hour of active discovery, designed to stimulate the curiosity and participation of up to thirty young explorers.

Following this, the stage at Forte Gisella will come alive with “The Happy Prince” theatrical performance. This rendition brings to life the profound and moving friendship between a prince, now an immobile statue, and a swallow. A timeless story, capable of speaking to the hearts of children aged 6 and above, and their families, encouraging reflection on the values of generosity and altruism.
The event is an integral part of “La città dei ragazzi 2026” program, a series curated by Fondazione Aida ETS ICC with the support of the Municipality of Verona. It offers an ideal opportunity to spend a summer afternoon immersed in culture and shared enjoyment, set against one of the region’s most captivating backdrops. Tickets are available at 7€ (full price) and 4€ (reduced for children 3-12 years and accompanying disabled persons), with free entry for children under 3 and persons with disabilities.
