“Offro io!” by and with Antonella Questa at the Astra Theatre in Verona

Antonella Questa brings to the Cinema Teatro Astra in Verona, on February 13th, “Offro io!” (My Treat!), a contemporary fairy tale that gives voice to the invisible. The actress and author, with clear writing and comedy that is never reassuring, addresses the theme of recognition and social hierarchies, offering a careful look at how economic power can influence human relationships.

Matilde, the protagonist, is a 60-year-old concierge in an elegant building. Her life changes radically when she wins a significant sum in a scratch-and-win game. What will Matilde do now that she has the opportunity to buy everything? And, after buying everything, what will she have left to offer?

“Offro io!” transforms an individual story into a reflection on the dynamics of power and visibility. Antonella Questa, active in Italian contemporary theatre, uses the monologue to question collective dynamics, with attention to the role of women, work, and relationships.

Choreography by Valentina Dal Mas, lighting by Daniele Passeri, costumes by Martina Eschimi, and sets by Alessandro Ratti. The show is a LAQ PROD production, with the support of Produzioni Timide and the collaboration of Fondazione Armunia, La Piccionaia Centro di Produzione Teatrale, and Scarti Centro di Produzione Teatrale.
