Olivum Bardolino: A Weekend Dedicated to the Gold of Garda

The olive tree, long rooted in the territory of Lake Garda, began to play a crucial role in the 7th century AD, as evidenced by an edict of 643 that punished those who damaged olive trees in the Garda villages. In the Middle Ages, Garda oil stood out for its high quality and economic value, used both in food and medicine.

In the Renaissance, human intervention shaped the agricultural landscape with terracing on the slopes, so much so that the area has been nicknamed “Olive Riviera” since 1968. Today, Garda DOP oil is among the top five Italian DOP olive oil producers. The olives are born in a rich territory, between lakes and mountains.

Olivum Bardolino is a weekend dedicated to the gold of Garda, with nine oil mills exhibiting their products, from extra virgin olive oil to oil in cosmetics. It will be possible to participate in guided tastings and walks in the Bardolino area, discovering the secrets of this precious product.
