The route starts in Nago, crossing vineyards and gradually climbing along trail 601. You’ll encounter military emplacements and views of Monte Brione. After Malga Casina, the trail becomes steeper, until you reach a paved road. After passing Val del Parol, you’ll skirt the slopes of Monte Varagna, before tackling the final uphill stretch to Rifugio Damiano Chiesa, near the summit of Monte Altissimo.
