Sorsi di Natura: Discovering Sant’Andrea Island on Lake Loppio

Immerse yourself in nature and history with “Sorsi di Natura,” a series of themed visits to Sant’Andrea Island, a jewel in the heart of Lake Loppio. Three special Sundays, July 20, August 10, and August 24, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, to explore the natural and archaeological wonders of this unique biotope.

On July 20, discover the fauna that populates the island, guided by experts from the Fondazione Museo Civico di Rovereto. An opportunity to get up close with frogs, toads, coots, kites, and other mammals, and understand the importance of protecting this wetland.

On August 10, let yourself be led on a journey through time to discover the castrum of Sant’Andrea Island. A multi-layered site that reveals evidence from prehistory to the Middle Ages, up to the First World War.

On August 24, admire the lush flora of the island during a botanical walk. Observe the different plant environments, from the forest to the lean meadows, to the vegetation of the lake shores.

The Azienda per il Turismo Rovereto Vallagarina e Monte Baldo provides further information and maps. The cost is €10.00 (full) or €7.00 (reduced for Museum Pass or Trentino Guest Card holders). Booking is mandatory by 5 PM on the Saturday before the experience. For those wishing to visit Rovereto, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
