Spazio De Gasperi: A tribute to the Trentino statesman in Trento

In Trento, Palazzo Thun hosts the “Spazio De Gasperi”, a permanent exhibition dedicated to Alcide De Gasperi. The exhibition celebrates the bond between the statesman and the city, thanks to the donation of Maria Romana De Gasperi of documents, photographs and personal objects of her father to the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino and the Municipality of Trento.

The exhibition traces De Gasperi’s life, from his beginnings as a city councilor in 1909 to national political successes. Among the relics on display, the original edition of the Constitutional Charter with the signatures of De Gasperi, De Nicola and Terracini, original photographs and period films stand out. A video montage combines official footage with amateur footage of Trentino citizens, offering a glimpse of the 1950s. Visitors can also admire De Gasperi’s personal desk, from his Roman home.
