Sun Day: Exploring the Face of the Sun on Monte Bondone

Throughout the Saturdays of August, the Terrazza delle Stelle in the Viote area, overlooking the city of Trento, hosts a fascinating astronomical experience. The Sun Day event invites curious minds to turn their gaze toward the heart of our solar system.

Using telescopes equipped with specialized professional solar filters, visitors can safely observe the surface of our sun. It is a unique opportunity to witness sunspots, massive prominences, and spectacular filaments that reveal the star’s dynamic nature. Designed for ages eight and up, this initiative offers a profound way to engage with science within the breathtaking landscape of the Alpine peaks.

The sessions take place on the afternoons of August 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Admission is free, allowing everyone to enjoy a moment of astronomical discovery amidst the serene atmosphere of Monte Bondone.
