“Teatro Da Bar”: An Immersive Theatrical Journey at Malacarne

The “Teatro Da Bar” project once again offers the public a unique opportunity to engage with performance art. On Friday, May 29, 2026, at 9:00 PM, the spaces of Malacarne Art Lab will host a new site-specific happening, designed to deeply involve spectators in a narrative without predefined boundaries.

The performance, titled “L’Arte del Decoro Ovvero il Kamasutra della Panchina” (The Art of Decorum or the Kamasutra of the Bench), presents itself as a satirical and anthropological inquiry into gentrification. Through the visceral and disillusioned lens of Charles Bukowski’s poetry, the event explores the contradictions and urban mutations characterising the Veronetta district in Verona. It is a story that paints new urban identities, filtered by the irony and profound humanity that distinguish the celebrated author’s style.

What makes this event particularly intriguing is its immersive nature. The boundary between fiction and reality blurs, almost disappearing, as the actors mingle with the bar’s patrons. The audience is not merely an observer but becomes an integral part of the narration, invited to experience the event from a unique and personal perspective. Directed by Enrico Ferrari and Nicolò Sordo, with a cast including Eugenio Gaspari, PJ Houston, Gianluca Locatelli, and Pasquale Felix Mincione, the performance is enriched by live music from Michele “Toppezza” Lonardi and the special participation of Ruxanda Maidan and President Alessio Ceriani. An opportunity to reflect, enjoy, and be carried away on an unexpected theatrical journey.
