WARS III: Eyes on the World at the Rovereto War Museum

The Italian War History Museum in Rovereto presents the photographic exhibition “WARS III: Eyes on the World” from September 16th to October 22nd, 2023.

The exhibition showcases the winning and finalist shots from the third edition of WARS – War and Revolutionary Stories, an international photographic competition promoted by Montura, conceived by Fabio Bucciarelli and Raffaele Crocco.

Photography emerges as a crucial tool for information, narrating the often-silenced realities of the world, from rights violations to inequalities, to the horrors of war. The exhibited shots, taken by photographers from various nations, offer an in-depth look at ongoing wars and humanitarian emergencies, investigating their root causes.

The collaboration between the Atlas of Wars and the War Museum stems from the common desire to highlight conflicts as an element of continuity in human history. The first two editions of the competition saw the participation of over one hundred photographers, many of whom had already received prestigious international awards.

The winners of the 2023 Montura Prize were announced in Mantua during the Festivaletteratura on September 6th. The opening of the exhibition was held on Friday, September 15th at 6:00 PM.
