Immerse yourself in a crucial chapter of Trentino’s history with the exhibition “What those eyes saw!”, hosted in Borgo Sacco, Rovereto. An initiative promoted by the Fondazione Museo Civico di Rovereto, retracing the lives of soldiers and prisoners during the First World War.
The exhibition offers an intense look at the human stories behind the conflict: divided families, exiles, a territory transformed by war and the forced labour of the elderly, women and children. A particular focus is dedicated to the mirrored and cruel story of Russian and Serbian prisoners, enslaved in Trentino, and of Trentino people prisoners in Russia.
“What those eyes saw!” is a tale of difficult returns, of mourning and pain, but also of adventures and the resilience that accompanies every conflict. The event is the result of collaboration between various institutions, including the Accademia Roveretana degli Agiati and the Museo Storico Italiano della Guerra.
The exhibition is held at Progetto Manifattura, in Piazza Manifattura 1, 38068 Borgo Sacco (Rovereto). Admission is free and the exhibition is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 to 18:00.
