Bartoldo. From the poem by Tolo Da Re in Verona

The “Cantastorie nei Quartieri” cultural initiative, promoted by the Decentramento Department in collaboration with the Movimento Nonviolento A.P.S., presents the recital “Bartoldo. From the poem by Tolo Da Re” for its 2026 edition. The performance, interpreted by artists Giuliana Bergamaschi, Mauro Dal Fior, and Claudio Moro, is presented in the form of theatre-song.

The text draws inspiration from the poem by Tolo Da Re, which in turn reflects the famous character of Bertoldo created by Giulio Cesare Croce. The narrative follows the tragicomic adventures of the mountaineer Bertoldo, who travelled from Val d’Illasi to Verona to visit King Alboino’s castle. The story, divided into rhymed “Cantade”, follows the protagonist through numerous adventures before his return to his home valley. The performance is enriched by traditional folk songs that underscore the key moments of the work.

The events take place throughout the city’s districts. Admission is free, subject to availability. For booking information, please contact the Movimento Nonviolento A.P.S.
