Dorothea Lange exhibition at the Centro di Fotografia Scavi Scaligeri

The Centro Internazionale di Fotografia in Verona is hosting a major exhibition dedicated to documentary photographer Dorothea Lange. Curated by Walter Guadagnini and Monica Poggi, the exhibition runs from July 30th to November 1st.

The exhibition features approximately 200 photographs from the collections of the Library of Congress in Washington and the New York Public Library. These works chronicle the artist’s career during the 1930s and 1940s, capturing the impact of the Great Depression, mass migration, social inequalities, and the internment of Japanese-American citizens during the Second World War. Lange’s lens focuses on the faces and dignity of individuals caught amidst major historical shifts.

The exhibition is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. It is closed on Mondays, with the exception of special openings on August 15th and November 1st. Last admission is one hour before closing time. Guided tours are included with the entrance ticket and require mandatory booking through the educational office of the Verona City Museums.
