The springtime event Giardini d’Agrumi returns for its eighth edition, celebrating the lemon groves and citrus fruits of the Alto Garda region.

From 13th to 14th April 2024, Gargnano and its surroundings will be transformed into a veritable paradise of fragrance and colour, opening the doors of private gardens and historic lemon groves to the public.

The Associazione Terre & Sapori d’Alto Garda, in collaboration with the Municipality of Gargnano, the Parish of San Martino and the Pro Loco “This is Gargnano”, has organised a rich programme of events to introduce the public to the beauty and history of this area.

A charming itinerary between lemon groves and villas:

Visitors can follow the historic paths that wind through the streets of Gargnano, Villa, Bogliaco and Tignale, visiting over 20 private gardens, exceptionally open to the public, still cultivated according to traditional techniques.

Among the lemon groves not to be missed are the Pra dela Fam Lemon Grove Ecomuseum in Tignale, the Madernina Lemon Grove and the Parco Bernini Lemon Grove in Toscolano Maderno.

In addition to visits to the lemon groves, the Giardini d’Agrumi 2024 programme includes:

• Exhibition “Citrus, portraits of citrus fruits. Botanical watercolours by Angela Petrini” at the former Palazzo Municipale in Gargnano.
• Cultural meetings, guided tours, educational and sensory workshops, musical and artistic moments.
• Gastronomic competition with preparations based on Garda citrus fruits by students of the IPSEOA Caterina dè Medici in Gardone Riviera.
• Tasting of typical products at the Terre & Sapori sales point in via XXIV Maggio 14 in Gargnano.
• “Giardini d’Agrumi in barca”: a tour to admire the lemon groves from the lake (for a fee).
