Rice Fair in Isola della Scala

From September 17th to October 13th, the exhibition area of Isola della Scala hosts the 58th edition of the Rice Fair. This event is Italy’s most renowned culinary celebration dedicated to rice and risotto, honoring a tradition rooted in the “garzega,” the historical harvest festival.

The undisputed star of the fair is the Nano Vialone Veronese IGP rice, a symbol of the local territory. Visitors can enjoy risotto in over fifty different versions, prepared by Master Risotto Chefs from Italy and abroad. The heart of the event is the Palariso, an architectural structure shaped like a rice grain, where the famous Risotto all’Isolana, created by Cav. Pietro Secchiati in 1967, is served.

Beyond the culinary offerings, the fair features a rich program including costume parades, concerts, performances, and sports competitions.
