In the heart of the Venetian countryside, in Baldaria, Cologna Veneta, an event returns to celebrate the most authentic soul of the region: the Ancient Pieve Festival. Now in its thirty-second edition, this celebration, once known as the Threshing Festival, is a living tribute to the customs, traditions, and genuine flavours of the rural Venetian world. It is an invitation to rediscover a past shaped by farm work and convivial evenings, where the community gathered to share moments of joy and tradition.
From July 16 to 20, the sports field in Baldaria transforms into a lively hub of festivities. The food stands are the beating heart of the event, offering a culinary experience deeply rooted in local cuisine. Not to be missed are the renowned risotto with frogs and fried frogs, specialties that tell tales of ancient flavours. Alongside these unique offerings, visitors can enjoy rich meat and fish menus, as well as fragrant pizza by the slice, catering to every taste.

Each evening, the steel dance floor welcomes music and dance enthusiasts, with orchestras such as Luca Verri, Susanna Pepe, D’Animos Band, and Lara Agostini enlivening the nights with engaging rhythms. Admission is free, a gesture that underscores the inclusive spirit of the festival. A generous charity raffle adds a touch of solidarity to the entertainment. On Monday evening, the festival culminates with a theatrical performance, “In casa di riposo show” by Baruth di Nonne Venete, promising laughter and light-hearted enjoyment.
