Una delle ultime sere di Carnovale at the Teatro Nuovo in Verona

From October 27 to November 1, Verona hosts the play “Una delle ultime sere di Carnovale” by Carlo Goldoni, directed by Valerio Binasco, at the Teatro Nuovo. This production, involving the Teatro Stabile of Turin, Rome, Bolzano, and the TSV – National Theatre, is part of the 40th edition of “Il Grande Teatro,” organized by the Municipality of Verona in collaboration with the Fondazione Atlantide Teatro Stabile di Verona.

The play holds special significance as it was described by Goldoni himself as an autobiographical allegory of farewell, being the last work he wrote before leaving Venice for Paris. The carnival setting frames a narrative of feelings, marriages, and departures, exploring how love endures against life’s difficulties. Binasco’s direction highlights the modernity of Goldoni, revealing how human fragility remains a constant, even through traditional theatrical masks.

This production serves as a tribute to the power of theater to engage with the present through a vital and direct language. Performances are scheduled with varying times (16:00 and 20:45). Tickets can be purchased at standard sales points or through the BoxOffice Verona website starting October 15.
