Villafranca in History: a journey through the Middle Ages

The Scaligero Castle in Villafranca di Verona is set to host the event Villafranca nella storia, a weekend dedicated to medieval reenactment. On October 10th and 11th, the castle will become the stage for a journey into the past, aiming to promote the history of the Villafranca area through a blend of culture and entertainment.

The event will feature some of the most prominent Italian historical reenactment groups. Thanks to the participation of skilled artisans, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the trades and aspects of daily life in the Middle Ages. The program includes educational activities, falconry displays, archery demonstrations, and historical games, designed to engage both adults and children in an experience suitable for the whole family.

One of the highlights will be the reenactment of a battle that took place right at the walls of the Scaligero Castle. This staged historical siege promises to be a key element of the event, which will be further enlivened by musicians, ladies, and knights roaming the castle grounds. The event is organized by the Compagnia della Ginestra.
